So, Furrealife! is the name of my 18+ furry headworld aka furryverse (the universe that my system places our fursonas in and use like figurines and we record them suffer). Its a slice of life dramatic comedy series that follows a bunch of anthros navigating adulthood while getting glimpses into their diverse childhoods. It's best summed up as putting fursonas into situations in childhood and trying to see how they navigate future experiences. I like to see if they can figure out overcoming their tramua and develop healthy coping mechanisms without becoming who they hate the most.
I originally called this a "kidfur/babyfur" series because it is technically within the realm of what encapsulates babyfur/kidfur art, but just....the not shiny cute side. It's the stuff alot of people probably experienced or are familar with; the heavy hitting junk. This series started as strictly SFW but then i was like Okkk....so my childhood was Not SFW or pretty. theres enough people out here making soft cute childhood art, i will make the other kind. im making what helps me navigate stuff or brings joy. dont give a shit if its uncomfortable or wrong like bitch thats LITERALLY the point!!
No one in this series is "good". They're all animals, but pretty human. They're made in the image of their maker (the world lore is weird LOL).
I think its important to note this. All of the cast has major icky traits that they have to work through. They're all mentally ill. Some are autistic. Some have personality disorders. They all have done shit that wasn't right. They all are growing, and it's not gonna happen with a flip of a switch.
So yeah, there's heavy themes explored in this series. I try to make it obvious that yeah this is very fucked up and is damaging the character(s) involved, even if the characters act in a way that implies otherwise. It's not black and white. It's fiction, but I try to keep it real in that its complex and messy and folks can make terrible descions or do not good things when they don't understand the weight of it, or even when they know they shouldn't yet they still do it. And then I like to make them grapple and be eaten up by what they've done later or come to terms with what they went through. When i use comedy when diving into these topics, it isn't to undermine the fact people go through this shit irl. I hope this is clear.
MAJOR TRIGGER WARNINGS: abuse (physical, domestic, emotional), use of slurs (like, i dont censor them. srry), child abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, grooming, neglect), mental health (mental illness, suicide, self harm, substance abuse), weapons (guns, knives), drugs (alcohol, weed, ect), toxic relationships, sexual content (literal sex, fetishes, kinks, ect)
This series is not explored in a linear manner. I'm constantly jumping inbetween the "past" and present. Most of it is explored via "picture series". I basically make comics in an animatic esque way to show snippets of experiences, sometimes with a "punchline". If that makes any fucking sense.
