This is Furrealife!

Welcome to my passion/comfort project :3 Furrealife is a headworld more than a series. There really isn't any major plot except characters going through arcs of growth. This is a world I travel to when lying in bed or walking in circles or around town.

Synopsis

Follow a cast of furry wallflowers through their childhoods and attempt to navigate adulthood admist tackling tramua and, well...life! It is slice of life with dramatic elements. Coming to age stories, I suppose. Topics such as mental issues, self harm, suicide, sexual assault, child abuse and more are explored without a filter.

Background

I originally started off making this furryverse to softly enter the world of babyfur art before I realized it was painfully santized and not as relatable as I want babyfur/kidfur art to be so we started to dump our memories or stuff we've seen into our art to capture an actual nostalgic feeling opposed to one that is more ideal. Dirty houses, going without ncessities, being beaten or groomed, being suicidal, ect are things I remember growing up. I write/draw for this series for comfort to make me and others feel less alone if they didn't have a poster aesthetic childhood & havent healed from that as adults. Hell, I think a lot of what I draw anyone might be able to connect to because lets be real, did anyone have a "perfect childhood"? Kinda what I want to highlight. Everyone has their own shit going on. And it's what makes us beautifully human. Except for in Furrealife, they are furries but probably the most human acting animals ever.

Is every event you draw/write a direct memory?

No. I usually say whether or not something actualy happened or not in a piece's description to avoid people assuming the worst/danger of self or misread that a character/fursona actions represent our physical body's own. Furrealife is a fictional world and some events are directly inspired by irl events and others are exagerrated and/or not something we experienced directly but rather listened to others tell us about. And no, I don't endorse character's abusive or toxic actions. I hope my exploration of this makes it clear that i am extremely critical of abusive/toxic actions from any party partaking in them. But on the same paw, I ain't here to be teaching you moral lessons. Use critical thinking when something is presented ambigioulsy but makes you uncomfortable...listen to your gut :P
