October 2025 - Memorytober

My daily challenge for October 2025 revolving things I have a lot of good memories around (will focus on some sort of media I consumed).

This has no formal prompt/list and will just be a collection of art and a short reflection about whatever featured in the art. Given the theme, it'll be a lot of fanart.

I'm doing this as a way to not only shine light of things I really love from when I was growing up, but solidfy these good memories more than alot of heavier stuff I tend to keep more clear in memory. I want to look back and smile more than feel like, the regret or anger.

It is a chance I'll miss days for this, but this isn't to be like a strict challenge. Just happy to get out whatever I manage through the month with this.

Oct 1 - Magical Pokemon Journey

For my first entry is a tribute to the manga I was obsessed with as a kiddo.

In English, its known as Pokemon Magical Journey (1997 - 2003). I rented it out everytime I went to the library growing up because it was the only official girly manga for Pokemon I was aware of. The only other fix I had was reading Yellow's arc in Pokespe. This features Pikachu, who is owned by Hazel. Pikachu is one of the only Pokemon in the manga who does not talk. Pikachu influenced how I write my Pachirisu :D

Oct 2 - Ribbit King

I may draw characters from this series multiple times through the month, because I love Ribbit King (2003) so much and wish it would get a new game.

Here is Scooter, the kid who's enlisted to play Frolf. He has a cute voice in the English dub CDs thanks to Lara Jill Miller's voice acting. I used to rewatch the CDs multiple times growing up and thought it was sick as fuck for a game to have its own cartoon. This and Viva Piñata had my braincells by a grip. I still have the disc and case for the game, my family had it on PlayStation 2.
