"sooo....wth is furrealife and the furryverse"

So, Furrealife! is the name of my furry headworld aka furryverse (universe that my system places our fursonas in and use like figurines and we record them suffer). Its a slice of life dramatic tramuaedy series that follows a bunch of anthros navigating adulthood while getting glimpses into their diverse childhoods. Such a fun series because it's really just putting fursonas into situations in childhood and trying to see how they navigate future experiences. I like to see if they can figure out overcoming tramuas and unsavory/unpleasant traits without becoming a villian.

I pull alot of the stuff i write for this from either my own fucked childhood or from things i witnessed, heard about or read about. Some memories I capture 1:1 but i no longer specify what lol. Take a guess on which shit. Capturing the naivety of being a child and then trying to grapple with alot of junk you never attended to as an adult is comforting to me, because that is what im going through. This series is majorly self indulgent and cathartic to write.

I call it "kidfur/babyfur" because it is technically within the realm of what encapsulates babyfur/kidfur art, but just....the not shiny cute side. It's the stuff alot of people probably experienced or are familar with. this series started as strictly SFW but then i was like Okkk....so my childhood was Not SFW or pretty. theres enough people out here making soft cute childhood art, i will make the other kind. its my tramua and i get to cope with it in my way. dont give a shit if its uncomfortable or wrong like bitch thats the point!!

No one in this series is "good". They're all very much animals but....pretty human.
I think its important to note this. No beast is immune from wrongdoing. Everyone has places to improve in.

There's heavy shit explored in this series. I try to make it obvious that yeah this is fucking awful and is damaging the character(s) involved, even if the characters act in a way that implies otherwise (ie. the immoral relationships). It's fiction, but I try to keep it real in that its complex and messy and folks can make terrible descions or do not good things when they don't understand the weight of it or even when they know they shouldn't. And then I like to make them grapple and be eaten up by what they've done later or come to terms with what they went through.

This series is not explored in a linear manner. I'm constantly jumping inbetween the "past" and present. Most of it is explored via "picture series". I basically make comics in an animatic esque way to show snippets of experiences, sometimes with a "punchline". If that makes any fucking sense.

I write this series using furries because I like when critters are still very critter but are in the image of the maker (human)

I write Furrealife in a setting that mimics the one I know: midwestern esque suburb & a big city. The cast grew up in the suburbs and then all moved into a city as adults.
