Furrealife! is my anthro drama comedy coming to age series about a group of anthros navigating adulthood while grappling with shit that happened to them as cubs. Many members of the cast share similarities to characters we use as fursonas because this wasn't always meant to be a series, it just evolved overtime from being just a playground, to a series to make fun of shitty parts of childhood to seriously focused on exploring character histories and dynamics.
This series isn't for everyone. It began as something with my memories and knowledge as the primary guides to writing during a time I wanted to see babyfur art that felt more raw, nostalgic and cathartic. No member of the cast is a good person, they've all done shitty stuff, some having done really disgusting shit to eachother but no one is written as a villian. Everyone has the same capability to be a piece of shit as another character. There is ALOT of exploration of child abuse and mental health in this, like alot and the art and stories will depict this in varying ways and perspectives, so I really advise agaisnt looking into the series if you are sensitive to characters being bad to one another.
Essentially we put these OCs in situations, root for them to overcome their struggles and find happiness. It's slice of life. Like the Sims or when you play with your toys and make up drama and shit just cuz....thats rlly what it is for me and why I write it.
It's explored non-linearly. There is no ending, dunno if there ever will be one. Some parts of their backstories or experiences will be explored in depth though in which it'll get a full comic volume or whatever. I draw and post stuff as I make it!
yes, my silly furry world has worldbuilding! as they have guns and drugs like crack

Furrealife! is essentially a mirror of well, our world and reality. A parallel universe or timineline, a pocket dimension, who knows. Whatever the hell it is, the anthros in the series are in the middle of being human and animal. They experience everything humans experience while also having their animalistic insticts and traits altered in accordance to what we know as humanity. Theyre people like us, but theyre animals at the end of the day. They can live the same life as you, but the difference is that they are quite literally a cat person and is a drawing that is not real.
The world is primarily comprised of mammals, reptilians, avians and some amphibians. Aquatic animals and insects did not adapt in the way the species who are anthro have. Insects tend to take the role of pets as we view non-human mammals in our world. There are domesticated insects that furs avoid consuming due to the act being a societal taboo. Acquatic beasts such as fish are a food source and the most normalized one.
These inhabitants are referred to as anthros or furs. Anthros is mostly used in the same way as adult or people is used. For young anthros, it would be cub/cubs.
Species specific terms such as canine, puppy or litter are used the same way it is used in our world, and preferred by anthros of said species. A feline using pup to refer to their offspring isn't unheard of, as it also can be a cultural preference.
All species can copulate with any other species (minus fish and insects); there is no barrier. Species have the same reproductive systems as they do in our world. If there is issue with producing offspring, it could be due to a mismatch causing fertilization problems or hormonal issues in the anthro themself. The duration of pregnancy is adapted to their longer lifespans though. All AFAB species are capable of experience heat cycles and there's shots, supressants and other contraceptive options in this world to handle this.
Cubs start off very feral-like before developing more anthro like behaviors. Some furs may not grow out of all of their feral-like behaviors depending on how they're socialized. Overall, their society values behavior that is more human-like. Being told you act feral is an insult despite every fur still having feral-like tendencies anyways. And the usage of it as an insult is very subjective.
Anthros can experience what is called "ferality" which is a fur's stress response once pushed past the psychological threshhold, causing them to exhibit their instrinctual feral behavior until they feel safe again. Any fur can experience this and it is relatively common especially during conflicts or other high stress inducing situations. This can be things such as biting eachother, making whatever animal noises, freaking out (like a cat jumping off multiple things and breaking shit when scared), and even extreme behaviors such as trying to kill, maim and eat eachother. The behaviors exhbited are dependent on species, thus resulting in more expectation that carnivores would murder over herbivores. It is common for herbivores to be firearm carriers in areas with dense populations of carnivores.
Drugs impact furs the same way our real life equivalents do. There is no changes to them. Same with firearms - they exist and are used the same way. I won't really write any more depth on them because they're just There honestly.
No real historical events or figures of destruction are mirroed in Furrealife! and I try to avoid implications of these in the series despite a lot of my inspirations for character conflicts being from our world (such as pop culture, memes and locations). Some societal issues mirror those of our real-world, but not to the extreme. Being mixed species or a certain species does not have influence on how furs treat eachother as much as it can in our real world, most furs are infact mixed species. However, the way ones traits show themself may influence how other furs treat them if it is interperted as uncanny. Carnivores do experience some mistreatment due to being historically meat eaters and ferality behaviors. Furs that are transphobic or homophobic are likely just traditional losers / from conservative backgrounds.
