the lore

Kyri is a Ditto-Mew presenting Zoroark that held it's Mew-Ditto illusion for so long that it evolved/morphed into a Mewthree and lost its ability drop the illusion, trapping her in a life of of morphing into the various Pokemon identities she curated for protection. As a young Zorua, Kyri feared evolving into a Zoroark because of what she would listen to others claim about Zoroarks. In feeble attempts to subvert her future, Kyri would make herself useful by transforming into a Ditto and taking on other forms to prove others that she won't be what they claimed. Due to the rewarding elements of her adaptability, Kyri maintained her Ditto-Mew image until it began to destabilize and morph her into a new Pokemon, a Mewthree (a failed Mew -> Ditto that evolves into a stable lifeform). Horrified by the idea of a stable image, Kyri interrupted her own evolution by force so she could continue to transform easyily and as needed. This backfired, as now she has little to no control over her identities as her Mew-Ditto form cannot handle it compared to if she allowed herself to be a Mewthree.
