on our plurality - the sunflowers
CONTENT WARNINGS: references to abuse, self harm, suicide, drug use in art & writing on this page. no filter here.
its a mess and varies on who you ask in headspace. we use multiple terms that mean the same thing for different things. we kinda forge our own vocabulary and terminology too as a way to avoid using official terms that might piss people off ?? (some headmates will use it anyways cuz they dont give a DAMNNN!) overall we are polyfragmented with mixed sources, factive & alterhuman heavy and currently all over the god damn place.
ive been open about being plural since 2022 or so. shit tracks back to around 2012 (see archive). various sources, at the end of the day, we dont want the why to matter. the goal is working toward acceptance and finding ways to live where we are all: relatively hopeful, work together, trust eachother and feel less scared.
DISCLAIMER: i am very, very, very unqualified to be looked at as a reference due to my experiences. i use plural instead of state i have a particular dissociative disorder due to lack of clarity about what the fuck is wrong with me outside of being diagnosed with the various letters of the alphabet & trying to accept im unlikely to get the help i need due to financial constraints & safety, thus i figure it out myself. overall, do not look at my experience and view it as something certain or whatever. we're ultimately just human vessel out of many many others on the planet.
im personally someone that believes everyone no matter quality of life or past experience is some flavor of plural & that its actually fucking awesome to be plural, but the amount of fragmentation & dysfunctional (or lack of) communication is where the element of disorder comes in.
our structure 🌻🌐
our structure is confusing and large (+140), but we have started to map a bit of it.
something along the lines of whats pictured here minus the many fragments and subsystems and headmates who don't want to be known. those that want to share more will in other parts of the site.
collective name orgin
our collective name comes from Sunflower by Post Malone, Swan Lee, as it kinda hits how we be feeling. also the structure of a sunflower seed feels kinda similar to our structure. helianthus-fields just means sunflower fields. and yellow is the color that we all relate to of what it means to be free, and our youth we often fight together to try to protect
